Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who worked as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 until 2022. As a member of the Democratic Party, she previously worked in the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) and the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011) as well as the spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013-2015) and as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was a political contributor to CNN from 2017 to 2020. Psaki began her career as an Iowa Democratic senator, Tom Harkin, and was later elected governor of Iowa. Psaki was John Kerry's press secretary deputy in 2004. Psaki was the communications director of Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2006. Psaki was back in the political arena in 2012 and was the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 campaign.
