Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. Corcoran was among the first Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals since February, 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment that will cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second in the family of 10 children who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a skilled worker throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. Sometimes, the family relied upon deliveries of free food from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with condescension and disrespect, particularly after the fact that he was drinking. Corcoran was struggling in school, and she was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic elementary school. After failing several classes during her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School, where she graduated as a D student.
